Classroom Up Date

Good Morning Room 11 Families,

We have a very busy next few weeks!  Here is an updated list of events.

February 1-16 - Assessment Window

We will be taking several end of the semester assessments.  We started the writing and reading yesterday and will continue for the next few days.  Coming to school well rested, is very important!

Friday, February 9 - 100th Day

We are collecting food items for the Colchester Food Shelf.  Our goal is to reach 100 items by Friday.  We have collected 14 items so far!

Tuesday, February 13, - After School Practice

If your child has a speaking part in the performance, there is an after school practice on the 13th.  Please send in the permission slip that was attached to the packet they brought home last week. 

Wednesday, February 14 - Valentine's Day Breakfast and Card Exchange

Our breakfast will be at 8:45 and the card exchange that afternoon.  Look for a class list in folders today.

Balance Unit

Classroom Update

Hello Room 11 families,

One of my goals for 2018  is to better my communication with my students families.  I will be posting updates from the classroom twice a month via my classroom blog.  If you do not follow my blog, please subscribe to it!  There is a link  on the Porters Point Website.

Here is the first for 2018.

100th Day- We are trying to collect 100 food items for the Colchester Food Shelf.  

Valentine's Day - We will be celebrating on the 14th.  We will have another breakfast and students can exchange cards.

Writing Workshop- We are currently working on informative writing.  Students are collecting information from videos and text to write an informative piece.  They really enjoyed writing about dangerous jobs!

Math- We are completing Unit 5 and will be assessing soon.  Students have been working hard using open number lines to help solve number stories.

Science- We are studying the balance part of our Balance and Motion unit.  We are using counterweights to try and see if we can get shapes to balance.  We will be posting our results on *Seesaw today and tomorrow.

*Look for important info in tomorrow's home folders for instructions to set up an account with Seesaw to view their work.
